Thénac is more than simply a wine-growing estate; it’s a rural property inside which the animals play an important role.
Although almost a quarter of the 210 hectares are covered in vines, the majority of the property is made up of woodland, fields and cropland. The animals roam this open space.
The presence of the animals is testament to the Shvidler family’s love of nature. The owners made Thénac into an ecosystem where man lives in harmony with the environment.
Thénac is an ecosystem where man lives in harmony with the environment. A truly scenic heritage. Geese hiss and peck to defend their lake, and with them live a flock of ducks and two magnificent black swans. Just a few feet away, a herd of deer and does hides in the small oak wood, sheltered from the gaze of the goats that climb the piles of stone removed from the vineyard. Then there are the donkeys and the elegant Scottish Blackfaces… In every forest, field and grapevine plot, the spectacle is never-ending.
